SAM MILLER

I’m a storytelling fiend with 10+ years of experience in production and screenwriting and 30+ years of training and experience as a performer.

SCREENWRITER

In 2023, I had two screenplays optioned, a feature film and a television pilot. My feature was optioned by Mandalay Pictures and attached an Academy Award Nominee to star. My television series, Curve, was optioned by Taylor & Dodge, producers of the Academy Award-nominated May December, and is currently being pitched.

DIRECTOR & PRODUCER

In 2019, I founded creative production company, Shoots and Ladders, which has marketed and produced branded content, commercials, episodic digital content, and music videos for 20+ prominent L.A. clients, including the Sunset Marquis Hotel, Raleigh Studios, Orbital Virtual Studios, Coeur Sports, and artists such as Rob Leines and Murat Boz. I’ve directed commercials, music videos, branded content, and print, and my content has been published in Forbes.

 

PERFORMER

As an actor, I starred in an OOC Sundance pilot, tested for Netflix, and hosted two seasons of True Crime: Uncovered, a Condé Nast Entertainment, Oxygen, and Snap Original show that garnered over 1.3 million subscribers. I started life and career as a ballet dancer and enjoyed a long list of career highlights that includes dancing in episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Lucifer, and G.L.O.W.

 

EDUCATION

I studied film at Princeton University where I received my B.A. in Comparative Literature with a Film Theory focus, and I graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts as a high school ballet major. I have guest lectured at USC on Public Speaking & Performance.

Today I am dead-centered on screenwriting, directing, and producing to bring excellent stories to life.
